Since the announcement Xiaomi made in 2021 that it would produce its own car, there were no further details.

However, Xiaomi has recently launched its first electric car, the SU7, which is a sporty sedan model ready to challenge the electric vehicle (EV) market.

The Xiaomi Su7 Sedan would be made available in two versions: the Base and the Max.

The Base version will have rear-wheel drive, with an electric motor that produces 220kW (295 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. It has the ability to go from 0 to 100km/h in 5.28 seconds. It also comes with a 73.6 kWh battery that can travel up to 668 kilometres (according to CLTC’s testing standards)

On the other hand, the Max version uses a pair of electric motors for all-wheel drive. It has a total power of 425 kW (570 horsepower), a maximum torque of 838 Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in a mere 2.78 seconds. It also has a top speed of 265 km/h. Additionally, it comes with a 101 kWh battery that allows one to travel up to 800 kilometres with a full charge, and can travel at least 390 kilometres with just 10 minutes of charging or 510 kilometres with 15 minutes of charging.

The interior comes with a large 16.1-inch centre screen inbuilt with 3K resolution and a 7.1-inch screen behind the front seats for rear passengers to enjoy. It also has a 56-inch head-up display. This car’s cockpit operating system (HyperOS) uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. The Xiaomi Pilot automatic driving system depends on the Nvidia Orin-X Chip with 508 TOPs of processing power.

Even though the Xiaomi Su7 has been officially launched, the price has not been announced yet. Let us wait and see if the cost will breach one million baht in Thailand.
