On October 6, 2025, Deputy Industry Minister Yossingh Liemlert visited the automobile assembly plant of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd. in Ban Pho, Chachoengsao Province — one of Toyota’s most important global production hubs.
The plant operates under the “Ecological Factory” concept, serving as a model of green manufacturing that emphasizes clean technology, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss Public–Private Partnership (PPP) opportunities aimed at advancing Thailand’s industrial sector toward sustainable and eco-friendly production, particularly in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), which plays a vital strategic role in the country’s industrial future.
Yossingh: “Toyota Is Not Just a Factory, But a True Partner of Thailand”
The Deputy Minister stated that industrial development in today’s era cannot be driven by the government alone — it requires collaboration with capable private-sector leaders like Toyota, which has long prioritized technological innovation, environmental responsibility, and social contribution.
“Toyota is not merely an automobile manufacturer, but a strategic partner of Thailand — working side by side to build a sustainable industrial ecosystem.
We want to see both local and international businesses grow together with communities, ensuring that progress leaves no one behind.”
— Yossingh Liemlert, Deputy Minister of Industry
Driving Local Collaboration — Balancing Economy and Environment
Following the plant visit, discussions were held between Toyota executives and representatives from the Ministry of Industry to explore long-term cooperation in sustainable industrial management. Key topics included:
- Industrial and wastewater management
- Local infrastructure development
- Job creation and community employment initiatives
Both sides agreed to jointly promote a model of “sustainable coexistence between factories and communities,” aiming to make Thailand’s industrial sector a benchmark for green and responsible manufacturing.
Building Future Industries That Grow with People’s Well-being
The Deputy Minister further emphasized that the Ministry’s new operational direction will focus on community engagement and local participation, promoting a balanced approach between economic growth, environmental protection, and citizens’ quality of life.
The ultimate goal, he noted, is to transform Thailand’s industrial zones and factories into leaders in sustainable manufacturing, positioning the nation as a regional hub for automotive production and clean technology.
Conclusion
The visit underscored the strong collaboration between the government and private sector, particularly with a global manufacturer like Toyota, which continues to play a crucial role in steering Thailand toward a greener, more sustainable industrial future.
