Thai Honda appoints Mr. Masayuki Hamamatsu as new Executive President to drive future-ready strategy
Thai Honda Co., Ltd., the leading manufacturer and distributor of Honda motorcycles and power products in Thailand, has officially announced the appointment of Mr. Masayuki Hamamatsu as its new Executive President, effective from 1 April 2026.
Mr. Hamamatsu’s journey with Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in Japan began in 1994. With over 32 years of expertise in the motorcycle industry, his most recent role was Assistant Vice President at the Global Headquarters in Japan. He played a pivotal role in overseeing motorcycle and power product operations, specifically spearheading Electric Vehicle (EV) strategies to lay the foundation for Honda's future global innovations.
His extensive international portfolio includes leadership roles across diverse and highly competitive markets in Europe and Asia, such as Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, India, and Australia. This wealth of experience reflects his profound expertise in business strategy, automotive technology, and organisational management within complex global environments.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in strengthening Thai Honda’s market position. Mr. Hamamatsu succeeds Mr. Yuichi Shimizu, whose term concluded on 31 March 2026. Under his leadership, Thai Honda aims to elevate consumer confidence in product quality and technology while accelerating future business directions. The move reinforces Honda’s commitment to maintaining its sustainable leadership in the Thai motorcycle market through innovation and long-term partnership trust.
