The All-New Nissan JUKE EV has made its debut, set to hit European roads as the brand’s flagship compact electric crossover.

Positioned to be sold alongside the JUKE HEV (Hybrid), the electric variant has been reimagined with a modern aesthetic without losing its distinctive, edgy character.

Engineering and Platform Insights

On the technical front, the JUKE EV is expected to be underpinned by the AmpR Small platform (formerly known as CMF-B EV). This shared architecture, developed within the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, also serves as the foundation for the new Renault 5 and the upcoming Nissan Micra. By utilising this platform, Nissan can optimise battery packaging and improve production efficiency while maintaining the agile handling the JUKE is known for.

Furthermore, the model will feature "V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid)" technology, allowing the car to feed electricity back into a home’s power system.

Global Rollout

The future for the JUKE nameplate remains bright on the world stage. It joins a robust electrified lineup, alongside the Nissan Micra EV, the third-generation Leaf, and the Ariya crossover. Given the strong performance of Nissan’s hybrid and e-POWER powertrains in the US and Asian markets, experts anticipate a comprehensive global rollout for the JUKE EV following its full technical launch in 2027.

The Thailand Perspective

As for Thailand, Nissan continues to prioritise its e-POWER drivetrain. This strategy aligns with local consumer demand for greater flexibility. Unlike the initial EV hype, the Thai market has recently seen a slight cooling of interest in pure electric vehicles due to lingering concerns regarding charging infrastructure and range limitations on long-distance journeys.
