2027 BYD ATTO 3 update features a bigger body, new Blade Battery 2.0, and the shift to rear-wheel drive
Initial leaks for the 2027 BYD ATTO 3 is set to feature the next-generation LFP Blade Battery 2.0, introducing "Flash Charging" capabilities and a significantly enlarged chassis for a more commanding presence.
Blade Battery 2.0
The second-generation Blade Battery will be available in two capacities, both supporting BYD’s ultra-fast Flash Charging. This technology allows a 10–97% charge in just 9 minutes, or a lightning-fast 10–70% in a mere 5 minutes, essentially matching the time it takes to refuel a traditional petrol car.
- 57.5 kWh Variant: Delivering a 540 km range (CLTC).
- 68.5 kWh Variant: Delivering a 630 km range (CLTC).

The Move to RWD
In a significant tactical shift, the 2027 ATTO 3 will transition to a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) platform. For the Chinese market, two motor outputs will be offered: a 200 kW (268 bhp) unit and a high-performance 240 kW (322 bhp) variant, promising a much more dynamic and engaging driving experience.
Enhanced Dimensions and Design
The new ATTO 3 has grown in every direction. With new dimensions of 4,665 x 1,895 x 1,675 mm. and a wheelbase stretched to 2,770 mm. (up from 2,720 mm.), passengers can expect a substantially more spacious cabin. The vehicle will sit on 18 or 19-inch alloy wheels, depending on the trim.
While the core "Dragon Face" design language remains, it has been sharpened for the modern era. Updates include more aggressive LED headlights, a sleek metallic silver grille, enhanced front air intakes, and a refined full-width LED light bar at the rear.
