Geely EX2 2026 reveals latest upgrades in China, enhancing driving range and implementing more advanced driver assistance systems

The 2026 Geely EX2 releases its latest upgrade in China, loaded with high-speed 1.66C charging and the Flyme Auto 2.0 operating system

Geely China has officially announced the launch of the refreshed Geely Geome Xingyuan (internationally known as the Geely EX2), a 100% electric vehicle that has recently secured the number one sales spot in China's new energy vehicle (NEV) market, beautifully overtaking major brand competitors.

This upgrade serves as a strategic move to maintain its leadership position by refining powertrain efficiency, elevating intelligent driving assistance systems, and extending the maximum driving range up to 480 kilometres (CLTC standard). This marks a positive signal for the Thai market under the management of its domestic distributor.

Key Highlights:

• Extended Range: Adds new battery options and an updated energy allocation system, expanding driving ranges to touch 410 km and 480 km (under CLTC standards).
• 1.66C Fast Charging: Accelerates DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in just 19 minutes.
• 7-Nanometer Chipset: Upgrades the intelligent cabin with Flyme Auto 2.0, running on the Longying No. 1 chip for faster, smoother, and more responsive operations.
• G-Pilot H3 Intelligent Driving: Equipped with Navigate on Autopilot (NOA) for highway driving and memory parking capabilities recognizing slots from a distance of up to 2 kilometres.

The Changes: Design and Technologies All Around

Exterior Upgrades –  The vehicle maintains its accessible and friendly appearance under the “Smile Design” philosophy, accompanied by premium detail refinements around the body:

• New Headlights and Taillights: The front fascia is refreshed with a set of LED headlights featuring feather-like light strips, blending a sporty look alongside an automated Active Grille Shutter system to lower aerodynamic drag. Meanwhile, the rear utilizes “Light Feather” LED taillights containing up to 78 individual light sources.
• New Wheels and Colors: Fitted with 16-inch cloverleaf/petal-style alloy wheels as standard, while adding freshness with up to 8 distinct exterior body paint shades.

Interior Upgrades –  Debuting brand-new cabin color schemes, including Taro White and Starry Grey, the vehicle transitions into an advanced software era with the Galaxy Flyme Auto 2.0 system. The ecosystem is driven by a 7nm automotive-grade Longying No. 1 processor, paired with an 8-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage capacity. The digital displays consist of an 8.8-inch driver's instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch high-definition central touchscreen, supporting independent dual-zone voice interactions.

On the driver assistance front, the vehicle is fully loaded with G-Pilot H3 (G-ASD) active safety technologies, which include:

• Highway and elevated road navigation assistance (NOA - Navigation on Autopilot).
• Intelligent parking assistance covering over 300 difficult parking scenarios.
• Remote memory parking from a maximum distance of up to 2 kilometres (Memory Parking).
• Complemented by an all-around Sentry Mode and a Driver Monitoring System (DMS) for fatigue detection.

Improved Powertrain and Charging Metrics

The upgraded Geely EX2 is driven by a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) system that adopts high-quality battery cells boasting an energy density of 190Wh/kg from the number-one supplier, CATL.

The electrical control system has been refined to deliver superior and more stable energy distribution, supporting a peak fast-charging rate of 1.66C. This effectively slashes DC fast-charging durations from 30% to 80% to be completed within just 19 minutes.

Retail Prices and the Trajectory in Thailand

During the launch of the 2026 updated version in China, Geely set highly enticing promotional prices for its 6 available trims:

• China Retail Prices: Sitting in the bracket of 61,800 – 91,800 Yuan (approximately 297,000 – 442,000 Baht) to tackle price wars and secure its market leadership.

For Thailand – The Geely brand was recently launched for official distribution by the major automotive dealer, Thonburi Neustern. The operations are currently going smoothly, recently achieving a milestone of delivering the first 2,000 units of the 39.4 kWh battery variant (offering a 395 km driving range under the NEDC standard).

The release of the 480km extended range specification and the Flyme Auto 2.0 chip in its home country serves as a great signal and direction. Thonburi Neustern, which maps out an expansion plan to grow its service network to 65 locations within this year, may prepare to consider adopting these options to empower the Thai-spec upgraded version in the future to solidify a value proposition over competitors in the same segment.
