Role and Profile
The appointment of Mr. Chatvithai Tantraporn marks a crucial starting point in defining a new trajectory for MG Thailand. Mr. Chatvithai is a highly specialized executive in communications, marketing, and top-tier corporate management, backed by over 30 years of experience across various premium automotive firms. Furthermore, he has played a pivotal role in co-developing electric vehicle technology and ecosystems in Thailand, perfectly aligning with MG's brand DNA as a leader in new energy innovations.
Under this modern management structure, Mr. Chatvithai will take charge of comprehensive core policies to reinforce the strength of dealer networks nationwide. Market Strategy: Opportunities in the New Energy Battleground
Despite highly challenging current economic conditions and ferocious competition in the Thai automotive market, Mr. Chatvithai noted that this market remains full of opportunities. This is particularly true for the alternative energy vehicle segment, which in 2026 has witnessed a growth rate that has nearly doubled compared to the previous year.
"This reflects shifting consumer behaviors where people are increasingly open to new technologies and innovations. Even amidst a challenging economic environment, consumers continue to search for vehicles that answer their needs in value for money, technology, and daily lifestyle utility," – stated Mr. Chatvithai Tantraporn.
Over the past 12 years, MG has operated and grown robustly under the management of Mr. Pongsak Lertrudeewattanavong, who has now been assigned his new role in managing Chinese automotive business groups. Throughout his tenure, he co-laid vital foundations for MG, spanning corporate direction, establishing next-generation business avenues, and developing efficient management systems, enabling MG to achieve continuous growth while cementing strength to further sustainable expansion in the long term.
