Motorist and the Shane Ang Racing team had a successful, podium-filled weekend at the first round of races in the 2026 PT Maxnitron Racing Series.

At the opening weekend of the 2026 PT Maxnitron Racing Series (PTRS), the Shane Ang Racing (SAR) squad walked away with 21 trophies between the team’s seven drivers, with podiums galore in both class and overall classifications.

Motorist’s resident racer kicked off his PTRS debut in style with a strong showing in all three races of the weekend, with three hard-fought second-place finishes in class and two overall podiums, an excellent result for his first time in the car. After this first weekend, he’s now firmly in the fight for the 2026 Group N AM class championship.

All three SAR drivers racing in the Siam GT class experienced some manner of car trouble, with assorted issues interrupting their weekend’s proceedings. Regardless, all three still managed to finish on both the overall and class podiums, with Kenneth Ho taking a class win in Race 1.

In the incredibly close Siam Eco category, Gladys Lam brought home a whopping seven trophies after strong performances in all three races earned her multiple podiums in class and overall.

SAR stablemate and fellow Siam Eco competitor, Kishen B, also achieved a third-place finish in class and overall in Race 3. The newest SAR member, Ron Tay, took his first weekend in car racing to learn the ins and outs of the sport and made steady progress throughout the weekend.

The team now looks to the next weekend of racing from 14 to 16 August, once again being held at the Chang International Circuit, to take to the track and fight once more.

Congratulations to the whole team, and stay tuned for more racing action!
