The biggest change for the 2026 New Civic e:HEV RS is the addition of Honda’s latest driving control system called "Honda S+ Shift". This technology is taken directly from Honda's top sports car, the new Honda Prelude, which is already on sale overseas.

• Smart System Mechanics: Upgraded control software manages the engine revs, powerful electric motor, drive force, and motor deceleration together. This simulates an 8-speed gear-shifting feel, making it feel just like driving a manual or standard automatic sports car on a race track.
• Active Sound Control (ASC): Adds to the exciting sports feel with simulated engine sounds inside the cabin that change with the gear shifts. This makes the car fun and thrilling to drive without disturbing anyone outside.
• Push-Button Gear Selector: If Thailand gets the same specification as Japan, Thai fans can look forward to a new push-button gear layout instead of a traditional gear stick, along with an S+ SHIFT button placed neatly beside the gear selector for easy use.
