If you are a die-hard Mini fan, driving the new Aceman JCW will feel like stepping back into the glory days of the original Mini—a car focused purely on driving satisfaction and raw go-kart handling response.

Even though the Aceman is built on a brand-new, pure-electric platform, the John Cooper Works (JCW) tuning allows Mini to truly be itself once again.

For daily city driving, it fits in perfectly. The compact dimensions make weaving through traffic a breeze, supported by a tight turning circle and helpful driver assistance features. The Traffic Jam Assist smoothly handles stop-and-go gridlock, while the Parking Assistant takes the stress out of difficult parking maneuvers.

Whenever you find an open road, flooring the accelerator brings the fake electric go-kart sounds alive in "Go-Kart Mode." The 350 Nm of torque delivers real, usable power, complemented by a Boost Mode that unlocks an extra surge of performance for 10 seconds.

Packing 258 hp (190 kW) and 350 Nm of torque into a 1.8-tonne body with a low centre of gravity and a near 50:50 front-to-rear weight distribution, this setup maintains that iconic "Go-Kart Feeling" while staying remarkably stable at high speeds.

This front-wheel-drive (FWD) electric powertrain unlocks a top speed of 200 km/h. Thanks to the e-Launch Control feature, it rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds, bringing sports-car acceleration to a compact city car.

It is powered by a 54.2 kWh LFP battery, providing a realistic driving range of up to 371 km (WLTP standard). It supports 11 kW AC charging and up to 95 kW DC fast charging, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes, a perfect match for Thailand's standard 100–120 kW public chargers.

Be warned: the suspension setup is unapologetically firm. While it offers rock-solid stability at high speeds and flat cornering on its sticky 19-inch tyres, you should not expect a soft, compliant ride from the Aceman JCW.

While noticeably larger than a standard Mini Cooper Hatch, the Aceman is not as bulky as a Countryman. It is designed to seat up to 5 people, though the rear seats are certainly on the tighter side.

Dimensions stand at 4,079 mm in length, 1,754 mm in width, 1,514 mm in height, and a 2,606 mm wheelbase. It remains compact and practical for city living, especially if you occasionally need to carry more than one passenger.

As a JCW Edition, it commands attention wherever it goes thanks to vibrant contrasting colorways—either the striking Dark Green and Red combination shown here, or a Dark Grey and Red option for 2026.

The exterior features dark green paint offset by bright red accents, motorsport-inspired chequered flag decals on the bonnet and wheel arches, and gloss-black badging all around. The 19-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels feature a near-solid disc design that almost entirely hides the red brake calipers within.

Prominent John Cooper Works emblems are dotted around the body to highlight its special-edition status.

The chequered flag theme continues inside across the knitted fabric on the dashboard and all four door panels, prioritizing eco-friendly materials over traditional leather.

The JCW steering wheel features sporty red stitching for an athletic grip. Instead of a traditional instrument cluster behind the wheel, driving data is projected onto a pop-up glass Head-Up Display (HUD)—though note that polarized sunglasses will block the view of this display.

In true Mini fashion, the central screen is a round OLED digital display running MINI Operating System 9. It offers high-contrast visibility even in direct sunlight, crisp touch responses, and 8 customizable Experience Modes (including Green, Classic, and Go-Kart).

Tactile mechanical switches remain for the engine start toggle, parking assistant, and core climate/audio controls.

A massive Panoramic Glass Roof extends over the rear passengers' heads, complete with a UV-reflective coating and a handy manual interior sunblind.

Rear boot capacity sits at 300 litres—enough for two large suitcases—and expands to 1,005 litres with the 60:40 rear seats folded flat.

Note that the tailgate is manually operated without a power-close button, though the lightweight door requires minimal effort to shut.

Modern Minis have sometimes drifted away from the simple, compact, fun-to-drive identity of the original models. The Aceman JCW brings that magic back, pairing electric performance with authentic John Cooper Works styling heritage in a compact package.

The Mini Aceman JCW is priced at 2,399,000 THB (including the MSI Standard package), which includes the exclusive JCW body kit and a power upgrade over the standard Aceman.
