Angela Poh's appointment with effect from 2 August 2026 follows her four-year progression across revenue, Group P&L and regional operations in Motorist.

Motorist has appointed Angela Poh as chief executive officer, succeeding company founder Damian Sia, who assumes the role of executive chairman.

Poh joined Motorist in 2022 as chief revenue officer, overseeing the Group's revenue streams, before being promoted to deputy CEO in March 2024. Her remit has since expanded to include the Group P&L across all business units and markets, finance, human resources and Group operations, with responsibility for Motorist's commercial and operational performance across the region.

Since Poh joined Motorist, Group revenue has grown 159% from 2022 to 2025, equivalent to a 37.4% CAGR. The Group has also remained profitable for three consecutive years, with net profit growing nearly fivefold over the period.

During her tenure, Poh has played a pivotal role in Motorist's regional expansion. In Thailand, which Motorist entered in 2022, revenue has grown at a compound annual rate of more than 50%, making it the Group's second-largest market.

Motorist today operates across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines, with more than half of vehicles transacted through the platform now coming from outside of Singapore. Motorist has also broadened beyond its original vehicle transaction model into insurance, financing and a wider range of services across car ownership.

As CEO, Poh has full executive responsibility for Motorist’s businesses, operations and markets. Her mandate is to build Motorist into a more connected regional car ownership platform by expanding its presence and business lines across Asia, while developing proprietary products and technology that deliver greater value throughout the car ownership journey. She will also lead the Group’s adoption of data and artificial intelligence to build new capabilities, enhance the customer experience and improve operational efficiency.

Damian Sia, founder and executive chairman of Motorist, said: “Angela has delivered exceptional results since joining Motorist. As her remit grew from revenue to Group P&L, operations and markets, she translated that broader responsibility into profitable growth and regional expansion. She has the track record, judgement and ambition to lead Motorist forward."

“As executive chairman, I will focus on Board leadership, long-term strategy and capital priorities, supporting the Group's longer-term opportunities from a strategic level.”

Prior to Motorist, Poh spent more than 13 years at American Express, where her last role was in business development overseeing regional commercial payments.

Angela Poh, chief executive officer of Motorist, said: "My priority is to build Motorist into a stronger regional business - establish leadership positions in our key markets, expand into selected opportunities across Asia Pacific, and create new products and capabilities that open up new sources of growth.”

“Just as importantly, that growth must translate into greater value for drivers. We want Motorist to become more integral to everyday car ownership – the one platform that drivers can rely on throughout the journey”.

Motorist's annual GMV doubled from S$327 million in 2022 to S$657 million in 2025. Looking ahead, the Group will continue to evaluate opportunities in new Asian markets through strategic partnerships and joint ventures. As part of its longer-term growth strategy, Motorist is also targeting a potential public listing in 2028, subject to market conditions and business readiness.

Founded in 2015, Motorist is a leading automotive technology platform built to make car ownership simpler. Operating across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Philippines, Motorist brings together the services drivers need throughout the car ownership journey in one platform - from buying and selling cars to insurance, financing and tools to manage their vehicles.

To date, Motorist has assisted nearly 1.9 million motorists and facilitated S$3 billion in vehicle transactions, and works with more than 3,300 certified automotive partners across the region.
