Audi A2 e-tron Developed 100% in Germany and manufactured at the Ingolstadt plant, the Audi A2 e-tron is positioned as the brand's entry-level EV for the European market. Its appeal extends beyond the top range of 646 km to a low energy consumption rate of just 12.8 kWh/100 km—making it the most energy-efficient production car Audi has ever built.

Prioritizing Efficiency Over Battery Size

Focus on Energy Optimisation: Rather than relying solely on larger batteries to extend range, Audi optimised the drivetrain, body design, wheels, and underbody airflow management:

  • Cd 0.24 Aerodynamics: The A2 e-tron features a drag coefficient of just 0.24—the best among Audi's compact lineup. It includes active cooling air inlets, an almost completely enclosed underbody, and optimised wheels and wheel arches to minimise air resistance.
  • 4 Power Outputs: Ranging from 125, 140, 170, and 240 kW, with the top version delivering up to 545 Nm of torque.
  • 3 Battery Sizes: Capacities of 52, 61, and 84 kWh accommodate urban commuting, daily travel, and long-distance driving.
  • 52 and 61 kWh Batteries: The two smaller options utilise Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells with a Cell-to-Pack structure, mounting cells directly into the housing to increase packing density and save space.
  • 84 kWh Battery Switched to NMC: The largest battery features Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) chemistry using a modular structure, fitted in the 170 kW and 240 kW A2 e-tron variants.
  • Lowest Consumption at 12.8 kWh/100 km: The 140 kW A2 e-tron equipped with the Efficiency Package achieves a WLTP consumption rate as low as 12.8 kWh/100 km.
  • Max Range of 646 km/Charge: For drivers prioritising distance, the 170 kW model with the 84 kWh battery achieves up to 646 kilometres under the WLTP standard.

Maximized Interior Space & Tech Integration

  • Compact Exterior, Spacious Interior: The A2 e-tron features a 2.77-metre wheelbase with short front and rear overhangs. The trunk capacity starts at 396 litres, expanding to 1,336 litres with the rear seats folded.
  • Tech and AI Integration: Equipped with the MMI Panoramic Display, combining an 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus with a curved 12.8-inch MMI touchscreen. It also features the AI-integrated Audi Assistant and e-tron Route Planner.
  • V2L and V2H Support: The V2L system powers external appliances, while V2H supplies energy from the battery back into the home electrical system via a compatible DC Wallbox. V2H capability will initially roll out in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
  • Safety Systems: Includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Brake Assist, Swerve Assist, Attention Assist, Parking System Plus, and a rearview camera, with additional advanced driver assistance systems available via option packages.
  • Commitment to Sustainability: The A2 e-tron incorporates over 300 recycled components, with more than 100 utilising post-consumer recycled materials. Meanwhile, the Ingolstadt factory reused over 1,200 existing production equipment items, including roughly 250 robots, reducing vehicle development time by 21 months compared to similar previous models.
