Review Mazda 6e 2026

Mazda 6e Review: A full-electric D-segment sedan offering lavish luxury features for just 1.2 million THB, transforming Chinese EV architecture with authentic Mazda DNA.

What’s Great?

  • Gorgeous, head-turning design infused with signature Mazda styling language.
  • Authentic Japanese D-segment presence at C-segment pricing.
  • Genuinely premium interior materials and craftsmanship.

What’s Good?

  • Supremely smooth, quiet, and composed ride quality.
  • Substantial battery capacity with rapid DC charging that minimises public charging stops.
  • Identical technical specifications across all trims.

What’s Not Great?

  • Panoramic glass roof features a central crossbeam with slightly unusual styling.
  • Heavy kerb weight causes the suspension to thud over broken, uneven tarmac.
  • Fastback silhouette compromises rear boot cargo capacity somewhat.

Mazda 6e driving on the road"Composed, refined, and luxurious"—three words that immediately define the Mazda 6e upon stepping inside. From its premium design to its smooth road manners, it prioritises executive refinement over pure racing thrills.

Regardless of your driving style, you'll feel persuaded to embrace this car's elegant character. Throttle tuning is progressive rather than aggressive, delivering a smooth 290 Nm of torque. Even flooring the pedal in Sport mode avoids harsh neck-snapping acceleration—which makes sense, given that Mazda's '6' series is engineered primarily for executive comfort.

Urban driving feels delightfully polished. Steering effort is pleasantly light and the suspension copes admirably during standard commuting. However, squeezing through narrow city alleyways takes extra care due to its wide executive proportions and noticeable blind spots.

Front illumination and grille motif of Mazda 6eBuilt on Changan Mazda's platform (shared with the Deepal L07), its front styling beautifully preserves Mazda's identity, featuring an illuminated wing motif over a closed-off diamond-pattern grille.

Tucked behind its sleek fascia is a full automatic LED lighting setup—aggressive DRL light strips sit up top, while primary night illumination is positioned lower down. Parking sensors and surround cameras above the front licence plate double as a built-in dashcam recording drive footage automatically.

Front frunk storage compartment of Mazda 6eUnder the bonnet lies a 72-litre front trunk. Driving power comes from a rear-mounted single electric motor (RWD) producing 258 hp (190 kW) and 290 Nm of torque, sprinting 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds with a 175 km/h top speed.

Energy is supplied by a substantial 77.9 kWh battery pack delivering up to 654 km of range (NEDC). Rapid DC fast-charging supports up to 194 kW, topping up from 30% to 80% in roughly 15 minutes—or 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes (provided you connect to a sufficiently powered DC charger).

That said, carrying such a large battery pack makes the vehicle noticeably heavy, which is immediately felt from the moment you tip into the accelerator.

Side profile dimensions of Fastback Mazda 6eIts side profile showcases a sleek Fastback sedan silhouette, measuring 4,921 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,491 mm tall with a generous 2,895 mm wheelbase.

At nearly 5 metres long, navigating tight lanes takes practice. A ground clearance of 148 mm handles standing water adequately, though the sleek 1,491 mm roofline naturally caps interior vertical headroom slightly.

On the flip side, the long 2,895 mm wheelbase translates directly to executive-level rear legroom, complemented by plush, oversized seating for all occupants.

Front cabin upholstered in light brown Nappa leather on Mazda 6eThe cabin is elevated by light brown Nappa leather upholstery. A tactile two-spoke multifunction steering wheel retains physical buttons for effortless control.

Infotainment is anchored by a 14.6-inch central display with slick touch response, placing frequent controls closer to the driver. A 10.2-inch digital driver cluster is seamlessly integrated into the dashboard, delivering a bespoke, premium look rather than looking like an afterthought OEM screen.

Cabin equipment is extensive: a 50-inch AR-HUD that works seamlessly with polarised sunglasses, memory seats with welcome retraction, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control with rear passenger controls, a power panoramic shade that retracts to the centre, 360-degree cameras, built-in navigation, and 17 ADAS safety systems as standard across all trims.

Rear styling and active spoiler of Mazda 6eAt the rear, a full-width light bar features Mazda's signature round brake lamp graphics and a speed-sensitive active rear spoiler, accompanied by new minimalist lettering replacing the classic winged badge.

Optimised aerodynamics keep average energy consumption down to an efficient 14 kWh/100 km despite its large body. 19-inch alloy wheels come standard across all trims (with optional 21-inch wheels available at purchase).

Rear boot space of Fastback Mazda 6eBoot capacity stands at 336 litres due to the sloping Fastback roofline, expanding to 1,074 litres with folded rear seats for larger cargo needs.

Rear emblem and pricing of Mazda 6e 2026The Mazda 6e marks a thrilling comeback for Mazda, pairing top-tier EV luxury with irresistible Japanese styling across two identical mechanical specifications.
