Toyota has officially introduced the bZ3X electric SUV with right-hand drive (RHD) in Hong Kong and Macau, marking the first entry of this BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) model into the special administrative regions. The launch event took place on September 27 at Toyota’s main showroom in Kowloon Bay, highlighting Toyota’s commitment to expanding its EV portfolio beyond China.
Toyota bZ3X : Price Premium Compared to China
In Macau, the bZ3X RHD starts at HK$259,000 (≈1,223,700 THB). Hong Kong pricing has not yet been confirmed but is expected to be similar. In comparison, the nearest equivalent in China (520 Pro+) is priced at CNY 139,800 (≈829,500 THB), making the RHD model nearly 47% more expensive. This price difference reflects regional taxes, import duties, and the limited production scale of the RHD variant.

Toyota bZ3X differences from the Chinese Version
While the RHD bZ3X shares the 150 kW motor with China’s 520 Pro+, it uses a slightly larger 70.0 kWh battery (vs 58.4 kWh in China) and includes premium upgrades like YAMAHA audio and panoramic roof. However, it does not have the 165 kW motor or advanced Momenta Lidar-assisted driving found in the Chinese top-tier 610 Max.
Expansion to Right-Hand Drive Markets
This launch positions Toyota to bring its China-developed EV to RHD markets, including Japan, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and potentially Thailand. It marks a strategic step to grow Toyota’s global EV presence beyond China.
