Nissan NX8 just got 8,423 bookings in 30 minutes with 1,450 km range at a startling price of 710,000THB

Within 30 minutes of its launch, the new Nissan NX8 logged over 8,423 orders. With a starting price roughly equivalent to ฿710,000, this powerhouse arrives with 800V 5C architecture and is available in both BEV and EREV variants.
800V Tech and a Massive 1,450 km Range
Built on a high-voltage 800V architecture with 5C ultra-fast charging, the NX8 supports a peak power output of 463 kW. This allows the car to juice up from 10% to 80% in a mere 12 minutes.
The EREV (Range-Extended) model is a standout for long-distance drivers. It features a 1.5-litre Turbo engine acting solely as a generator for the battery, paired with a 250 kW electric motor. It offers a pure electric range of 310 km, but when the engine kicks in, the total combined range stretches to 1,450 km (CLTC). Even with low battery, it maintains a frugal fuel consumption of just 22.2 km/L.
For the BEV (All-Electric) enthusiasts, two specs are available in China, a 215 kW (288 bhp) motor and a 250 kW (335 bhp) motor. These are paired with 73 kWh and 81 kWh batteries respectively, delivering a maximum range of 650 km per charge (CLTC).

Price and Market Impact
The Nissan NX8 launched with a promotional starting price of 149,900 Yuan (approx. $20,900 or ฿710,000-790,000 THB). Standard pricing ranges from 159,900 to 209,900 Yuan, positioning it as a fierce competitor against local Chinese giants.
As for Thailand, with Nissan having only recently launched the All-New Kicks e-POWER, we might have to wait a while for the NX8—or perhaps, quite a long while indeed.
