New Nissan Elgrand 2026 revealed before Japan launch, featuring "AUTECH" and "VIP" top trims

Nissan Motorsports & Customization has officially unveiled the design of the All-new Nissan Elgrand, a Full Model Change version, in its special "AUTECH" and "VIP" editions.

For this debut, Nissan Japan focuses on superior luxury under the "Private Lounge" concept, emphasizing spacious interiors and luxury akin to a private suite. The model features the latest generation e-POWER electric motor technology, which was previously showcased as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

Powertrain and Drivetrain

• 3rd Gen e-POWER: The third-generation hybrid system that delivers more power and quieter operation than before.
• e-4ORCE Technology: An intelligent 4-wheel drive system that controls all four wheels independently, providing maximum smoothness in all road conditions.
• Intelligent Dynamic Suspension: A newly tuned suspension that focuses on both smoothness and the "joy of driving," staying true to Elgrand's DNA.

Deep Dive: 4 Special Edition Trims

1. Elgrand AUTECH: The Flagship Model – The top-tier model inspired by the Shonan-Chigasaki coast (Autech’s birthplace):

• Exterior: A dot-patterned grille reflecting the shimmering surface of the water, wave-patterned Signature LEDs, and 18-inch alloy wheels featuring an "A" motif, resembling light rays shining beneath the sea.
• Interior: A black colour scheme accented with blue stitching—the Autech signature—alongside Premium Nappa Leather with a "Sazanami" (ripple) quilting pattern.

2. Elgrand VIP: For Executives – Focusing on the ultimate cabin for relaxation and work:

• Exterior: Features a Dark Metal Grey grille, VIP emblems, and automatic electric steps with puddle lighting.
• Interior: Equipped with a 15.6-inch rear passenger screen, personal reading lights, and premium Nappa leather seats.

3. AUTECH LINE: Sporty and Sleek Style – Emphasises a more aggressive and modern exterior with a dark grey grille, metallic side mirrors, and "Taylor Fit" seats that provide an exceptionally snug and comfortable feel.

4. STEP TYPE: Focusing on "Omotenashi" Service – Designed for ease of entry and exit, featuring a "Long Step" electric staircase that operates in sync with the sliding doors, complete with LED ground lighting for safety in the dark.

Availability Schedule

Nissan plans to commence sales of the All-new Elgrand and its four special editions during the summer of 2026 (approximately June-August in Japan). For Thailand, we must keep a close watch at the end of this year to see if it will be imported to challenge the market leader, the Toyota Alphard. During the concept's debut at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, there were whispers of "See you in Thailand in 2026."
