BYD Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition has officially launched in China. The luxury full-size SUV is priced starting at 2.08 million Baht

Denza, a premium automotive brand under BYD, celebrated its milestone of producing 500,000 vehicles by launching another historic model named the Denza N9 "Flash Charge Edition," a massive full-size SUV that upgrades its powertrain and Flash Charge system for the first time.

This move in the Chinese market represents an elevation of PHEVs to cross limits in both performance and convenience, which is considered another flagship model with a chance to shake up the Thai market in the future following its older MPV sibling, the Denza D9.

Key Highlights:

  • Flash Charge Technology: Charges from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and nearly full at 97% in just 9 minutes.
  • 2nd-Gen Blade Battery: The battery size of 75.3 kWh with a pure electric range of 420 km and a combined hybrid range of up to 1,520 km (CLTC).

Fast Charging Tech and Supercar-level Performance

The prominent feature of the Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition is being the "first" PHEV model equipped with the 2nd-generation Blade Battery, sized at 75.3 kWh, achieving a pure electric range of 420 km and a total of 1,520 kilometres when working in full hybrid mode.

Regarding BYD's Flash Charge system, it guarantees a charging speed from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and a near-full charge to 97% within 9 minutes. BYD aims to expand this type of charging station to cover a 3-kilometre radius in major cities across China by the end of 2026.

Supreme Performance on the e3 Platform

The vehicle is built on the intelligent “e3” platform, driven by a 2.0T internal combustion engine (207 hp) working with 3 electric motors, split into a 268 hp front motor and dual 322 hp rear motors each, bringing the total combined system output to 912 hp.

In addition to power, it features the DiSus-A intelligent body control system paired with a dual-motor independent rear-wheel steering system that can turn up to 20 degrees. This results in high agility for the vehicle despite its massive size, offering a minimum turning radius equivalent to a compact car. It also comes with a “Compass U-turn” function, a 15-degree Crab Walk capability, and a supreme vehicle stability system in the event of a high-speed tire blowout.

Luxury AI Interior

Although the exterior is designed aggressively in a premium EV style, coming with dual-layer LED headlights and large 22-inch polished forged wheels filling the arches, with a massive body size measuring over 5,258 mm in length and a wide wheelbase of 3,125 mm, the cabin interior is designed to be sport-luxurious with all-around display technology:

  • A large 17.3-inch central console display.
  • A 13.2-inch front passenger entertainment display and instrument cluster.
  • A massive 50-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) projected onto the windscreen.

Furthermore, the interior space is decorated with real wood materials, metallic buttons, a suede leather headliner, and diamond-stitching seats, driven by the latest AI Intelligent Cockpit system along with the God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver assistance system.

Pricing & Availability

The Denza N9 Flash Charge Edition has officially launched for sale in China with a total of 3 variants, with the starting model priced at 409,800 Yuan (approx. 2,080,000 THB) up to the top-tier model at 469,800 Yuan (approx. 2,390,000 THB).

A chance for Thai market? –  Currently, Denza Thailand is marketing the D9 model exceptionally well. The overwhelming response to the Denza N9 in China, helping the brand surpass 500,000 total cumulative production units, makes it highly possible that BYD Thailand might consider importing the Denza N9 as a luxury full-size SUV option to further challenge European brands.
