Official images of the Chery Stockman have been unveiled, the twin-turbo diesel PHEV pickup truck is taking on global markets later this year.

The global momentum for alternative-energy pickup trucks is intensifying worldwide (including in Thailand), and Chery is making its definitive move. The brand has officially released the images of the “Chery Stockman” (KP31), a mid-size pickup truck prepared to take on the global stage.

Contrasting with most major market competitors, the vehicle relies on diesel power instead of a petrol internal combustion engine. The 2.5-litre twin-turbo 4-cylinder engine generates a mechanical output of 282 hp (210 kW) and 650 Nm of torque. It registers a thermal efficiency rating that is 47% superior to conventional internal combustion setups, while reducing powertrain vibrations by over 30%.

• Charging and Distance: The engine operates in tandem with an electric motor and a high-capacity battery pack mounted towards the back of the frame to achieve optimal weight distribution, yielding a pure electric driving range of over 100 km in EV Mode.
• Furthermore, Chery has confirmed that pure internal combustion engine (ICE) variants and petrol-powered PHEV models will follow in the future to satisfy alternative procurement budgets across specific global regions.

The vehicle is engineered on the “Kaitan Architecture,” spanning a total length of 5,450 mm, a width of 1,920 mm, and a height of 1,925 mm. The exterior silhouette delivers a bold and muscular road presence, dominated by a wide horizontal front grille cluster integrated with retro-styled circular LED headlight units and box-flared fenders that reinforce its brawny dimensions.

• Cargo Bed Utility: Crafted in a 4-door double-cab layout, the cargo bed is raised high above the chassis frame to eliminate inner wheel arch intrusion. Official retail pricing structures have yet to be disclosed by the parent company, though market analysts anticipate a highly competitive price point to challenge key global segment rivals. The official launch timeline is structured as follows:

• Pre-Sales and Global Export Rollout: Slated for the fourth quarter of 2026, making its initial right-hand-drive market debut in Australia.

Trajectory for Thailand – Currently, Chery Thailand is aggressively expanding its electrified footprint through the OMODA&JAECOO banners.
